Yesterday (14th Feb) I visited local independent plastics recycler Centriforce who have invested £1m in a new plastic recycling facility at its six-acre Liverpool production centre. I officially opened the site which will see up to 10 people employed – an example of ‘green jobs’ being created.
The plant is the culmination of a £2m programme of expansion at Centriforce, which has seen the company double its production capacity to more than 10,000 tonnes per annum in the past four years.
The UK’s recycling industry is growing and companies like Centriforce are making a valuable contribution towards a more robust infrastructure for UK plastics recycling in the future. Continued investment will stop thousands of tonnes of waste from going to landfill every year.
